DBT-Informed Skills Group
We are now enrolling for our 10-week DBT-informed skills group, starting this October!
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a structured, evidence-based treatment originally developed to help folks with intense emotional dysregulation and self-destructive behaviors.
DBT treatment aims to…
increase resilience / decrease vulnerability to distressing moments/crises,
build a life worth living by enacting emotional, cognitive, interpersonal, and behavioral change,
develop adaptive and effective ways to emotionally regulate,
decrease reliance on maladaptive/impulsive coping behaviors, and
improve interpersonal relationships.
This DBT-informed skills group is a 10-week long group that focuses on the four pillars of DBT: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
This group is NOT a process group, but rather a group intended for learning and practicing DBT skills among peers with similar values. It is meant as a supplement, not as a replacement, to individual therapy.
-
You are a good fit for this group, if you are…
a young adult in your 20s-30s
a woman / gender-queer person
LGBTQIA+-affirming
looking for more practical coping skills to add to your toolbox
wanting more support outside of your individual therapy
looking for community with shared values
can commit to attending weekly sessions for 10 weeks
